
QA Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance Management:
- Develop, implement, and oversee the company's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, DOH, and international food safety standards such as HACCP, ISO 22000, and GMP).
- Establish, review, and update quality assurance policies and procedures to align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Lead and supervise the daily operations of the QA team, ensuring efficient execution of tasks, team development, and adherence to quality standards.
Product Quality Control:
- Monitor all stages of the production process to ensure that products meet established quality standards, including raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of production lines to detect non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
Implement and monitor effective inspection protocols, ensuring product quality and compliance with internal and external specifications.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with food safety and quality regulations as set by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD), and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Stay updated on changes in food safety regulations and industry standards to ensure continued compliance.
Manage and oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory documentation and reports for compliance audits, including certification bodies and third-party audits.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, train, and mentor the QA team to ensure they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet quality standards and objectives.
- Provide guidance and support to QA staff in resolving quality issues, providing technical expertise as needed.
Establish and track performance metrics for the QA team, providing regular feedback and performance reviews to encourage continuous development.
Continuous Improvement:
- Initiate and lead continuous improvement programs within the QA department to enhance quality processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
- Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues, leading corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve any deviations from established standards.
Collaborate with the production, R&D, and other departments to implement process improvements and new quality control techniques.
Supplier Quality Management:
- Work closely with the procurement department to establish supplier quality requirements and standards.
Conduct supplier audits, monitor supplier performance, and ensure that raw materials and ingredients meet company quality standards before they are approved for use in production.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of quality assurance activities, including testing results, inspection reports, corrective actions, and audit findings.
- Prepare regular QA reports for senior management, detailing performance, product quality trends, and areas for improvement.
Ensure proper documentation of all quality-related procedures, processes, and changes, in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Handle customer complaints or quality-related inquiries, conducting investigations and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
- Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and maintain the company's reputation for product quality.
Participate in customer meetings or presentations regarding product quality, food safety, and compliance issues.
Food Safety Management:
- Ensure effective food safety systems, such as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), are in place and adhered to throughout the production process.
- Train staff on food safety standards and protocols, ensuring proper sanitation and hygiene procedures are followed.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
- Certifications in food safety and quality management systems (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP) are highly preferred.
- Work Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role in the food manufacturing industry, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial capacity.
- Proven experience in leading quality assurance teams, managing audits, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, regulations (FDA, BFAD, etc.), and quality management systems (ISO, HACCP, GMP).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a focus on coaching and developing a high-performance team.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to perform root cause analysis and lead corrective action processes.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with various stakeholders, including internal teams, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and experience with quality management software.
