The Instrument Man assists the Surveyor in performing land surveying tasks. They operate and maintain surveying instruments, collect accurate field data, and ensure proper documentation of measurements for construction, engineering, and mapping projects
Key Responsibilities
Survey Operations
- Set up, operate, and maintain surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS equipment, automatic levels, and data collectors.
- Accurately measure distances, angles, elevations, and coordinate points.
- Perform field stakeout for construction activities (roads, pipelines, utilities, buildings).
- Assist the Surveyor in conducting boundary, topographic, as-built, and control surveys.
Equipment Care
- Ensure instruments are calibrated and in good working condition.
- Transport, assemble, and disassemble surveying equipment safely.
- Maintain proper care, cleaning, and storage of all instruments.
Data & Documentation
- Record field notes, survey data, and observations clearly and accurately.
- Verify accuracy of collected data before submission.
- Upload, download, and manage survey data files as required.
Site & Safety Compliance
- Follow project-specific and company safety procedures.
- Identify and report hazards in the field.
- Maintain communication with crew members and site personnel.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
- 1–3 years experience in surveying or related field (or willingness to train).
- Proficiency with total stations, GPS RTK systems, and levels.
- Ability to interpret construction plans, drawings, and survey instructions.
- Mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Physically able to work outdoors in various conditions and terrains.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php20, Php25,000.00 per month
