Backend Tech Lead (Java)
who is passionate about building modern, high-performance systems that serve millions of users.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a small, high-performing agile squad with full ownership of mission-critical backend services.
  • Design and build highly scalable, secure, and reliable APIs for high-volume transactions.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders on API standards, security, compliance, and platform reliability.
  • Define the technical roadmap, drive architectural decisions, and oversee delivery of new backend features and enhancements.
  • Champion engineering excellence—advocate best practices in testing, monitoring, performance, and DevOps.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years working with Java (other general-purpose languages are a plus).
  • Strong foundation in system design, performance optimisation, and building large-scale, resilient systems.
  • Proven experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, and message queues.
  • Hands-on exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and enterprise-level systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, a pragmatic approach, and strong English communication abilities.
