We are looking for a detailed‑oriented and experienced Medical Coding Specialist who will be responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and assigning accurate billing codes, coordinating with physicians and clinical staff to ensure documentation integrity, conducting audits, and helping to ensure compliance with coding & payer policies. Your work will directly support the revenue cycle and patient billing processes.

This is a Work-from-home opportunity.

This is a full-time position, 30/40 hrs a week

The rate is $7 an hour or Php 60,000 to Php 65,000 per month

A Medical Coding Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations in a medical facility. Their responsibilities often include but not limited to:

  • Review medical charts and documentation for pediatric patients; assign diagnosis, procedure, modifier, and other required codes using ICD‑10, CPT, HCPCS codes, etc.
  • Ensure proper use of modifiers, correct sequencing of codes, and adherence to coding guidelines.
  • Interact with physicians or coordinators to resolve unclear or missing documentation.
  • Research and resolve coding questions, documentation discrepancies or payer issues.
  • Participate in billing and coding team meetings; share updates on coding changes, training, or best practices.
  • Assist in claim preparation and review or correction of denials if associated with coding.
  • Maintain coding accuracy and productivity to meet organizational benchmarks.
  • Generate reports on coding errors, trends, or needed improvements.

Requirements and skills

  • Certification in Medical Coding strongly preferred (CPC, CCS or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 1 year coding experience (pediatric setting is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of ICD‑10, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, E&M coding; ability to interpret clinical documentation.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word) and ability to learn/customize proprietary software/systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, good time management.
  • Strong verbal/written communication, especially for clarifying documentation with providers.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
