Your Role at a Glance

Be part of our client's team as a Property Accountant, where you manage financial reporting, budgeting, and lease compliance for commercial properties. You'll oversee accounts, perform CAM reconciliations, support audits, and conduct financial analysis-ensuring accurate records and data-driven insights that drive strategic decisions and optimize property performance.

Qualifications to Excel

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or equivalent certification (preferred)
• 3-5 years of experience in property accounting, specifically in commercial real estate
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles
• Proficient in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Skilled in analytical thinking and problem-solving
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Solid background in commercial property accounting and financial operations

What You'll Do Every Day

Financial Reporting

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements for assigned properties, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Develop and manage annual property budgets and forecasts
• Monitor performance against budgets and provide variance analysis

Accounts Payable / Receivable

• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes related to property management
• Manage rent collection, tenant billing, and vendor payments

Lease Administration

• Review and interpret commercial lease agreements
• Ensure accurate rent rolls, tenant billing, and lease compliance

CAM Reconciliation

• Perform Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations and tenant chargebacks
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with lease terms

Audit Support

• Assist with internal and external audits
• Provide documentation and respond to inquiries

Financial Analysis

• Conduct financial analysis to support property acquisitions, dispositions, and strategic initiatives
