Role Description

The Data Engineer will build and maintain data pipelines, optimize data flow, and support data initiatives. This role involves creating reports and dashboards, ensuring optimal data delivery, and collaborating with various departments to support data-driven projects.

• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
• Ensure data adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy
• Implement secure data processing procedures
• Monitor, analyze, and evaluate data systems
• Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide relevant support for tech infrastructure needs
• Collaborate with stakeholders on data infrastructure and pipeline administration
• Assemble large, complex data sets for business requirements
• Automate processes, optimize data delivery, and redesign infrastructure for scalability.
• Build infrastructure for data extraction, transformation, and loading using Snowflake, SQL and AWS technologies
• Develop analytics tools for actionable insights and optimization
• Build reports and dashboards for business teams using AWS and Snowflake or similar technologies

Major Requirements

• At least six (6) years of experience in data engineering.
• Proficiency in modern database and information system technologies
• Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases
• Experience with 'big data' pipelines, architectures, and data sets
• Strong analytic skills with unstructured datasets
• Experience with large scale datasets, data lake and data warehouse technologies such as AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake. Snowflake is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in message queuing, stream processing, and scalable data stores
• Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Snowflake, Postgres, AWS Redshift, and DynamoDB
• Familiarity with data pipeline and workflow management tools like Airflow and Glue
• Experience with AWS cloud services and stream-processing systems
• Excellent data administration and project management skills
• Proficiency in object-oriented scripting languages (Python, Java, C++, Scala, Pyspark
• Experience with reporting tools like PowerBI and Tableau
• Experience with full system development life cycle (SDLC) and Lean or Agile development methodologies
• Critical thinking, problem-solving, and strong communication skills
