POSITION : Project Technical Specialist I (Product Design Engineer)

SALARY GRADE : SG 16

JOB QUALIFICATION : N/A

Education : Bachelor's/College Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and any other related courses

Experience : At least 1 year experience

Training : Four (4) hours of relevant training

Eligibility : None Required

Other Requirements :


• Knowledgeable in using CAD software (e.g. SketchUp, AutoCAD, etc.)


• In-dept knowledge of industry and mechanical design principles and design for manufacturing principles
• Experience with prototyping and iterative hardware design


• Familiarity with motion systems (e.g., linear rails, stepper motors, gear assemblies)


• Familiarity with electronics integration (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Jetson, sensor integration)


• Hands-on experience assembling and troubleshooting mechanical systems


• Familiarity with the government's procurement process is an advantage


• Must be able to work well with a team, and to communicate well with the group,


• Must be adaptable to circumstances, self-motivated, teachable and fast learner


• Can work with minimal supervision


• Must be willing to work in Quezon City

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general supervision and direction, HE/SHE shall perform the following:

· Design and implement a 3D scanning rig suitable for museum setting

· Understand optical setups and camera positioning (for multi-view scanning)

· Develop multiple industrial designs for the system's hardware appliance based on the current appliance prototype and system requirements and implement the top selected designs for prototyping

· Define the hardware appliance's properties such as dimensions, weight limits, materials, and physical integration of components based on the developed industrial designs.

· Develop a plan that meets the appliance's latest version of the system requirements.

· Provide support in technical oversight and guidance during the assembly and testing phases of the rig, ensuring mechanical reliability and adherence to design specifications.

· Collaborate with computer vision experts for rig calibration and optimization

· Coordinate with the project manager and supervising engineer in defining the items that need to be procured for the design and implementation of the developed industrial design for the appliance

· Coordinate with the supplier regarding all the requirements for the fabrication of prototypes of the system's hardware appliance

· Adhere to established contributing protocols in the project when submitting implementations to the project's source code repository

· Deploy the developed hardware appliance units into target partner beneficiaries for field testing and validation

· Participate in events and other activities (e.g., exhibits, meetings, trainings, and seminars) of the project · Perform other tasks relevant to the role as may be assigned from time to time

· Submit daily status reports as required by the supervising officer

· Report to work on time
