The
Raw Materials / Commodity Buyer
is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing raw materials required for production while ensuring cost competitiveness, quality compliance, and supply continuity. This role closely monitors commodity markets, manages supplier relationships, and collaborates with internal stakeholders to support efficient and uninterrupted operations.

  • Source, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for raw and packaging materials
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings
  • Monitor global and local commodity market trends, price movements, and supply risks
  • Secure long-term supply agreements and manage contract compliance
  • Ensure materials meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, Finance, and Logistics teams
  • Manage inventory levels and support demand forecasting and replenishment planning
  • Identify cost-reduction, substitution, and value-engineering opportunities
  • Handle supplier performance reviews and resolve supply or quality issues
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Economics, or related field
  • 3–7 years of experience in procurement, commodity buying, or strategic sourcing
  • Experience in FMCG, manufacturing preferred
  • Strong knowledge of commodity pricing, contracts, and supplier negotiations
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, import/export processes, and risk management
