Fitter

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vessel Fitter to join our technical team responsible for the maintenance and repair of our commercial fishing fleet in Malabon/Navotas City. This role is crucial for ensuring the structural integrity and operational readiness of our vessels. The ideal candidate is an expert in metal fabrication and structural repair, capable of working independently on complex marine structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Structural Repair and Fabrication: Perform precise fitting, cutting, shaping, and assembly of metal components (steel, aluminum, etc.) for vessel hulls, decks, bulkheads, hatches, and engine foundations according to blueprints and engineering specifications.
• Welding Expertise: Execute high-quality welding (e.g., SMAW, GMAW) necessary for structural repairs and modifications, ensuring all welds meet industry marine standards.
• Maintenance: Conduct routine checks and repairs on vessel piping systems, machinery foundations, propeller shafts, and rudders during drydocking.
• Troubleshooting: Assist the engineering team in diagnosing structural defects and mechanical failures, recommending and implementing necessary fitting solutions.
• Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all shipyard safety protocols and ensure that all work is completed to the required marine classification standards.

Qualifications

• Must possess strong proficiency in metal cutting, grinding, measuring, and fabrication techniques.
• Technical training or certification in Fitting and Welding (NC II or equivalent qualification is a strong advantage).
• Ability to work effectively under minimum supervision and maintain high quality standards while working under pressure.
• Willingness to work on Saturdays and Overtime as required to meet critical vessel turnaround schedules.
• Physically capable of working in various environments, including heights, confined spaces, and varied weather conditions at the port.
