Project Accountant

Position Summary

The Local Project Accountant is responsible for providing financial oversight, accounting support, and compliance monitoring for the project. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, proper documentation, and timely submission of all project-related financial requirements. The Project Local Accountant works closely with the project team, contractors, suppliers, and the central finance department to maintain transparency, integrity, and efficiency in all financial activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Accounting & Reporting

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the project.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual project financial reports.
• Track project expenses against the approved budget and report variances.
• Ensure proper coding of all project expenditures in accordance with company standards.
• Coordinate with the central finance team for consolidation of project accounts.

2. Budget Monitoring & Cost Control

• Assist in the preparation and review of project budgets and cash flow forecasts.
• Monitor spending to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
• Identify potential cost savings or risks and raise concerns to management.
• Support financial analysis for decision-making and project performance reviews.

3. Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Review, verify, and process invoices, reimbursements, and payment requests.
• Monitor accounts receivable related to project billings, advances, and collections.
• Ensure all payments to suppliers and contractors are supported by complete and valid documentation.
• Maintain an organized filing system for financial documents.

4. Compliance & Audit Support

• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Prepare supporting documents for internal and external audits.
• Coordinate with auditors and respond to audit queries in a timely manner.
• Ensure adherence to procurement and financial control procedures.

5. Cash Management

• Assist in preparing weekly or monthly cash requirements for the project.
• Monitor petty cash and ensure proper liquidation and replenishment.
• Reconcile cash advances, outstanding balances, and project fund transfers.

6. Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with the project team, procurement, and contractors on financial matters.
• Provide financial insights during project meetings and coordination activities.
• Support project management in preparing financial documentation for partners, lenders, or regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is an advantage, but not required.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in project-based environments (e.g., construction, engineering, energy, or infrastructure).
• Strong understanding of local accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Proficient in accounting software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php30, Php35,000.00 per month
