Job Description

As a Web Developer, you'll design, develop, and maintain WordPress-based marketing websites that power global campaigns. From optimizing performance to building custom ACF blocks, you'll ensure scalability, accessibility, and innovation while supporting purpose-driven brands that make a lasting difference.

The Qualifications We Seek

• 3 years of professional experience in WordPress development
• Proficient in PHP (Object-Oriented and Procedural) within the context of WordPress
• Deep familiarity with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) Blocks, including dynamic field rendering and conditional logic
• Strong experience with WordPress templating
• Ability to register and manage custom post types, custom taxonomies, and user roles
• Experience with custom hooks, filters, and plugin customization
• Solid understanding of Gutenberg editor behaviors and how ACF blocks extend its capabilities
• Competency in HTML5, SCSS/CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and responsive layout frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap or CSS Grid)
• Experience working in version control environments (Git) and deploying code via staging workflows
• Familiarity with performance optimization, caching, and image handling in WordPress
• Basic knowledge of database operations and custom fields
• Familiarity with security best practices (e.g., sanitizing output, escaping inputs, hardening endpoints)
• Experience implementing Yoast SEO, markup, and accessibility standards

Your Daily Tasks

• Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and child themes with performance and accessibility in mind
• Build Gutenberg-compatible blocks using ACF Block JSON and PHP templates
• Manage custom post types, taxonomies, and field groups using WordPress Codex best practices
• Maintain WordPress theme codebase in Git and participate in code reviews
• Troubleshoot site errors, plugin conflicts, and performance issues
• Translate Figma mockups or wireframes into responsive, pixel-perfect pages
• Write reusable PHP, JavaScript, and CSS/SCSS to extend WordPress functionality
• Maintain modular templates for blog, case studies, and resource libraries
• Optimize assets and load times using caching and compression techniques
• Ensure WCAG accessibility and modern SEO compliance
• Implement schema markup and structured metadata
• Document and create helper functions to support content workflows
• Support staging deployments, testing, and production rollouts

Desired Outcomes

30-60 Days

• Fully onboarded to client's Git repository, local dev stack, and WordPress theme architecture.
• Complete 3-4 scoped tickets related to bug fixes, ACF field additions, or block styling refinements.
• Assist in the launch of at least one campaign-specific landing page or ACF-powered content type.

90 Days

• Take ownership of a set of ACF blocks or templates (e.g., resource card grid, testimonial slider, blog listing).
• Help audit and refactor legacy blocks or templates for reusability and performance.
• Document and propose new ACF components to enhance editorial flexibility.

6 Months

• Fully own one or more major website areas (e.g., homepage, case studies, content library).
• Assist in a broader CMS improvement or optimization project (e.g., global performance pass, field structure cleanup).
• Establish a regular contribution cadence and play an active role in technical planning for web marketing initiatives.
