Environmental Services Senior Specialist

  1. Must have a degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Engineering, or any related field
  2. At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience. Experience in DENR specifically permit processing is a plus.
  3. Competence in project management, documentation, coordination, and client interaction.
  4. Has good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  5. Willingness to conduct fieldwork, sometimes in remote or challenging environments.

  6. Permit and Instrument Processing

  7. Review all required documentation for the application, renewal, and amendment of tenurial instruments and permits. This is includes, but is not limited to, land leases, forest land agreements, foreshore leases, and cutting permits.

  8. Conduct thorough research and due diligence to ensure all submissions comply with the latest regulations, guidelines, and legal requirements of the DENR and other relevant government bodies.

  9. Manage the entire processing pipeline, from initial application to final approval, meticulously tracking the status of each document and addressing any deficiencies or concerns raised by government reviewers.

  10. Stakeholder and Government Liaison

  11. Establish and maintain professional relationships w/ stakeholders and DENR Personnel to facilitate effective communication and the smooth processing of documents.

  12. Represent the organization in meetings, site visits, and public consultations related to permit applications and land tenure issues as necessary.

  13. Provide regular updates and clear communication to internal teams regarding the status of all permit applications and the progress of tenure-related matters.

  14. Compliance Monitoring

  15. Monitor and ensure continuous compliance w/ all conditions and obligations stipulated in the issued tenurial instruments and permits.

  16. Develop and implement a system for tracking permit expiration dates and a proactive strategy for timely renewals.

  17. Conduct periodic internal audits to identify potential non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.

  18. Research and Advisory

  19. Stay informed of new and evolving DENR policies, laws, and administrative orders that may impact the organization's land tenure or operational permits.

  20. Provide expert advice and guidance to management on a range of topics including land use planning, environmental risk assessment, and strategies for navigating complex bureaucratic processes.
  21. Prepare detailed reports, briefings, and presentations on permit status, compliance risks, and strategic opportunities.
