The role focuses on the merchandising of Global/Local brands and supports the Company in formulating and executing product and marketing strategies for the categories assigned. They ensure that the product offerings are aligned with the market demand while ensuring the enhancement of the overall shopping experience of customers. Merchandising Managers drive the assigned categories into having the right products, in the right store, at the right quantity, and at the right time – ensuring sell-out of products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of a 4-year course, preferably a degree in business, supply chain, or other relevant fields. With at least 5 years of related work experience in the industry.

  • With at least 2 to 3 years of managerial experience and proven track record in leading teams and/or projects that require cross-collaboration among different departments

  • Solid understanding of category management, marketing management, inventory management, and product management

  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skills, and a proficient ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization

  • Proficient in MS Office applications

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Category Sales, product and marketing strategy

  • Product buying, pricing, and open-to-buy management

  • Category budget and P&L management

  • Supplier management, relationship, and negotiation

  • Product portfolio, SKU mix, per store curation and allocation

  • Inventory management, fulfillment, and replenishment

  • Market, competitor, and product analysis

Product training and visual merchandising

  • Assists the Business Unit Head in formulating and executing product and marketing strategies

  • Curate the product portfolio for prescription lenses – managing pricing, margins, and deals for these products

  • Prepare open-to-buys for categories assigned, ensuring optimal inventory levels at any given time

  • Be on top of new and innovative products with suppliers and competitors

  • Spot product trends on a per SKU, per store, per channel level

  • Improves departmental processes and procedures

  • Prepare, analyze, and interpret category reports to make well-informed decisions

  • People management
