Position Summary

The Inpatient Trainer develops and delivers training programs for inpatient coders, auditors, and related staff. This role ensures coding teams are well-equipped to maintain compliance, accuracy, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct training sessions on inpatient coding guidelines, updates, and compliance standards.
  • Provide onboarding education for new coders and refresher training for existing staff.
  • Collaborate with auditing teams to identify performance gaps and create targeted training solutions.
  • Maintain educational materials, coding references, and resource guides.
  • Track training effectiveness through assessments, audits, and coder feedback.

Qualifications

  • Certified inpatient coder (CCS, CIC, or equivalent) required.
  • 3+ years of inpatient coding experience with a proven record of accuracy.
  • Experience in adult education or staff training preferred.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and mentoring skills.
