Job Summary

The Employee Relations Assistant Manager is responsible for managing the Employee Relations team and leading initiatives that promote positive employee engagement, compliance with labor laws, and a harmonious work environment. This role serves as a key link between management and employees, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant handling of employee relations and labor relations matters.

Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Engagement
  • Lead and manage employee relations programs that foster trust, engagement, and open communication.
  • Handle and resolve employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary cases in a fair and timely manner.
  • Conduct employee investigations and recommend appropriate actions in coordination with HR and leadership.
  • Drive engagement initiatives aligned with company culture, values, and business objectives.
  • Partner with managers to proactively address employee issues and improve workplace relations.
Labor Relations
  • Ensure company compliance with Philippine labor laws, DOLE regulations, and internal policies.
  • Act as a point of contact for labor-related inquiries, audits, and inspections.
  • Support management in handling labor cases, notices, and proceedings, including documentation and coordination with legal counsel when needed.
  • Assist in policy development and updates to ensure legal compliance and operational consistency.
Team Management & Leadership
  • Supervise, coach, and develop the Employee Relations team to ensure high performance and consistent case handling.
  • Set clear goals, monitor workloads, and ensure timely resolution of ER and LR cases.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members on ER best practices, labor law basics, and case documentation.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Prepare and present ER and LR reports, trends, and insights to HR leadership.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend preventive or improvement measures.
  • Support HR initiatives related to culture, engagement surveys, and policy enhancements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Employee Relations or Labor Relations, with leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Philippine labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Proven experience handling employee grievances, investigations, and disciplinary processes.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with confidentiality and professionalism.
