  • To meet or exceed product quality and cost targets through testing process improvement and implementation of applicable process control.
  • To meet target tester uptime and utilization by proper set-up and maintenance of test equipment and by continuous test process improvement.
  • To ensure tester quality control are in place without sacrificing productivity.
  • To implement applicable maintenance procedures on all testing equipment under Test Engineering, avoid unscheduled breakdowns and for assure that test machines are operating at optimum level.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Supervises tester set-up, conversion and qualification HGA Dynamic Performance Tester (HDPT) Slider Dynamic Performance Tester (SDPT).
  • Checks and approves results of tester qualification reports.
  • Defines tester control procedures and corrective actions for out-of-control conditions.
  • Analyze tester's performance through parametric, yield and other test related metrics.
  • Defines and supervises media screening process and control.
  • Monitors and controls media, suspension and other supplies consumption rate.
  • Performs failure analysis for product or tester yield improvement.
  • Formulates System changes in relation to Risk reduction or Preventive actions for previous testing related issues.
  • Prepares, reviews and updates test related documents and procedures.
  • Evaluates test parameters and testing cycle for capacity improvement.
  • Generates procedure and supervises evaluations on new methodologies, materials or equipment.
  • Generates and submits Weekly Accomplishment Report as required.
  • Conducts training, orientation and brush up to technician and operators.
  • Performs other related tasks that may be assigned by superior.

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • At least 5 years work experience in the same capacity gained in Magnetic Heads / HDD industry

Technical Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing process, equipment repair and maintenance
  • Advance knowledge of SPC, FMEA, DOE, QC Tools, Problem Solving Techniques, Data Gathering, Analysis and technical report writing procedures (understand principles, methods, procedures)
