Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY

The Accountant will be responsible for record to report value stream for simple and medium entities, including holdings entities. He/she will also be responsible in assisting day-to-day tasks such as daily bank reconciliations, journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. The accountant's primary objective is to act as the chief accountant of the company he/she will be assigned by analyzing financial records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and contribute to the APAC Finance vision and its operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Month End Closing: Complete monthly closing of books; prepare and record assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information; and calculate and post cost and corporate allocations.

• Financial Analysis and Reporting: Summarize financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheets, profit and loss, other financial statements and provide relevant analysis on account's flux and trend.

• Bank Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliation of bank accounts, resolve discrepancies between book and bank statement balances by coordinating with Treasury, Payroll, Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable teams.

• Balance Sheet Accounts Reconciliation: Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliation, discuss risks and opportunities by analyzing aged and outstanding items.

• Tax Accounting: Collaborate with tax team on reconciling tax accounts and posting tax related journal entries.

• Statutory and Compliance: Assist on external and internal audits by providing relevant information to Statutory and Compliance team.

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant.

• Possesses a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy and has a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, including end-to-end month end closing

• Has a thorough understanding of accounting standards and how they are applied in variance and transaction analysis

• Ability to communicate well in accounting parlance with clients, auditors, managers, and colleagues within the organization effectively and assertively

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and ability to interact with employees and stakeholders at all levels

• Deadline driven and ability to work effectively in a high growth and rapidly changing environment

• Ability to learn continuously such as emerging industry standards, tools and applications (AI)

• Ability to take initiative with a focus on continuous improvement.

• Critical thinking skills: ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret accounting transactions

• Possesses independence, reliability, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining strong attention to detail.

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, written or diagram

• Maintain objectivity and ensure guarding of financial information and confidential data

• Possesses excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

OTHERS

• Willingness to work in a hybrid work environment, with a minimum of three days in the office.

• Reports directly to the Senior Team Lead of General Accounting team.

• This position is mainly an Individual Contributor
