Job Summary:

The Mold Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of molds. This role ensures molds remain in optimal condition to minimize production downtime, maintain consistent product quality, and support efficient manufacturing operations. The technician also collaborates with production and engineering teams to identify issues, implement improvements, and ensure safe and reliable operation of all mold-related equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on molds to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical or operational issues with molds.
  • Assemble and disassemble molds for cleaning, repair, and proper storage.
  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and adjustments for accurate records.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to enhance mold performance and efficiency.
  • Follow all company and safety protocols during maintenance activities.
  • Operate various tools and equipment, including hand tools and machine shop machinery.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals.
  • Knowledgeable in thermoforming molding processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer literacy for maintaining maintenance records and reports.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Manufacturing Technology, or a vocational/trade school.

Certification: NC1 (Routine Maintenance – basic tasks like cleaning, inspection, and lubrication during mold changeovers).

Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in mold maintenance or a similar manufacturing role.
