Job Title: US General Accounting Associate

Location: Makati or BGC, Taguig | Schedule: Shifting (Onsite)

Role Overview

As a US General Accounting Associate, you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies. You'll play a key role in journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring that all accounting activities contribute to timely and accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain proficiency in internal systems and applications to understand end-to-end accounting processes
  • Maintain general ledger accounts in compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Post and upload journal entries, schedules, and reconciliations as part of monthly closing activities
  • Collaborate closely with U.S.-based teams and market counterparts to ensure alignment on financial transactions
  • Perform variance analysis comparing actuals vs. budget and provide commentary for key fluctuations
  • Prepare and distribute accurate month-end financial reports to internal and external stakeholders
  • Research and provide general ledger details to support requests from local finance teams
  • Partner with site CFOs and financial analysts to track accruals, transactions, and forecasted changes
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, resolving outstanding items within 90 days
  • Perform daily and monthly cash reconciliations, identifying variances and coordinating with third parties to resolve discrepancies
  • Reconcile AR subledger to the general ledger and address variances in coordination with your supervisor
  • Assist in preparing audit schedules and respond to audit-related inquiries
  • Recommend process improvements and contribute to standardization efforts within the accounting function

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
  • At least 1 year of experience in a general accounting role (required)
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and standard accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and cloud-based applications
  • Preferred experience with:
  • Workday Financial Management
  • Blackline (journals and reconciliations modules)
  • EPIC EHR (Electronic Health Record) system
  • Willingness to work onsite on shifting schedules in Makati or BGC, Taguig
