Key Responsibilities:
Media Planning:
Develop comprehensive media plans based on client briefs, campaign goals, and market analysis.
Identify and analyze target audiences to align media strategies with consumer behavior.
Research media channels (e.g., TV, radio, digital, print, OOH) for optimal reach and impact.
Collaborate with creative teams to align media strategy with content needs.
Negotiate contracts and pricing with media vendors to secure cost-effective deals.
Media Buying:
This is the main responsibility of Media Buyers. However, having knowledge and experience in this area is necessary for the role, as Media Buyers report to the IMC Manager. Additionally, this ensures that, in the absence of Media Buyers, the implementation can be handled internally as a contingency.
Schedule and place media buys across multiple platforms and channels.
Monitor media spend and allocate budget to ensure adherence to financial guidelines.
Campaign Management:
Track and manage media performance, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
Prepare post-buy analyses to evaluate campaign effectiveness.
Optimize live campaigns by recommending and implementing mid-campaign changes.
Relationship Management:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with media suppliers and partners.
Stay informed of industry trends, new media technologies, and competitor strategies.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare detailed campaign reports and insights using KPIs to assess the return on investment.
Analyze data and trends to provide actionable recommendations for future campaigns.
Keep up-to-date records of media placements, schedules, and budget allocations.
Team Leadership:
Mentor and train junior team members in best practices for media planning and buying.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to align media initiatives with overall marketing strategies.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in media planning and buying, preferably in an agency environment.
Strong knowledge of media planning and buying tools, platforms, and software (e.g., Google Ads, social media platforms, media research tools).
Proficiency in data analysis and media metrics.
Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in digital media, including PPC, programmatic, social media ads, and emerging platforms.
Knowledge of integrated marketing strategies to bridge traditional and digital media efforts.
