Graphic Designer

Job Description

As a member of the Communications (Comms) Team, the Graphic Designer shapes Smarter Good's and its clients' brands, tells stories about our products and outcomes, and connects with different cultures across different mediums. The role collaborates with teams composed of writers, editors, and account managers and is responsible for managing multiple creative projects.

Key Responsibility Areas

Compelling Visual Storytelling

• Create compelling and accessible visual materials (logos, brochures, website layouts, social media graphics, infographics, reports, presentations, email templates, and more) that effectively communicate nonprofit messaging
• Maintain brand consistency, develop visual strategies in collaboration with the team, translate complex information into clear visuals, and optimize designs for diverse platforms (print, web, social media, mobile)

Impact-Driven Communications

• Conceptualize, design, and execute communications initiatives aligned with client and organizational goals, including developing materials such as digital collaterals, annual reports, newsletters, impact stories, press kits, websites, and blogs to advance nonprofit fundraising
• Co-develop creative pitches and content strategies with the team, demonstrating an understanding of client work, audiences, and the communications landscape
• Provide insights into the design functions of the Editorial and Content Team (ECT) Strategy Hub, demonstrate cultural sensitivity for international audiences, and confidently present design concepts to stakeholders

Technology and Data-Driven Design

• Proactively leverage technology, AI, and other tools to optimize workflows, ensure quality, efficiency, and timeliness in all design projects
• Create data-informed designs and strategies, continuously enhance their design and digital skills, stay updated on design and digital trends, and implement effective digital asset management practices

Project and Resource Management

• Support the execution of multiple communication projects by adhering to production timelines, responsively coordinating within the team's communication channels, and utilizing resources efficiently
• Work within established budgets and deadlines, maintaining brand guidelines, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality designs
• Leverage technology and tools to maximize efficiency and address the unique communication challenges faced by nonprofits, such as limited budgets and diverse audiences

Collaboration and Project Execution

• Collaborate with writers, content strategists, editors, account managers, and researchers in executing concurrent projects, including the implementation of revisions, for clients and Smarter Good alike, which requires clear communication of design concepts and rationale and effective incorporation of feedback
• Contribute to the development and management of Smarter Good's internal and external communications materials, including website and social media content

Requirements

• 3+ years of combined experience in design, marketing, advertising, and visual communication or related fields; in the nonprofit sector and specific to fundraising an advantage
• A university degree in Information Design, Multimedia Arts, or related field
• Proven track record in increasing brand audience and engagement
• A strong design portfolio
• Proficient in using Adobe Creative Suite program Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects and experience in using Canva
• Has working knowledge of web UI/UX design principles, video editing, and/or animation
• Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills
• Strong command of English (US), eye for editing, and excellent grammatical standards
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Experience in and/or genuine interest in international development, social entrepreneurship, community development, or the social sector is an advantage

Pay: Php36, Php41,000.00 per month

Work Location: Remote
