Job Summary:

The Cyber Security Officer is responsible for protecting an organization's information systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. This role involves developing and implementing security policies, conducting risk assessments, managing security technologies, and responding to incidents to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Security Strategy & Policy:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).

  • Risk Management:

  • Identify security risks and vulnerabilities through risk assessments and audits.

  • Recommend and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.

  • Threat Monitoring & Incident Response:

  • Monitor networks and systems for security breaches or intrusions.

  • In collaborations with SOC, assist respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

  • Security Awareness & Training:

  • Conduct security awareness training for employees.

  • Promote a culture of cybersecurity across the organization.

  • Security Technologies:

  • Manage and maintain security tools such as Web Application Firewall (ex. F5, etc), Vulnerability Management System (ex. Tenable, etc.)

  • Knowledge with firewalls, anti-virus software, intrusion detection systems (IDS/IPS), and SIEM platforms.
  • Knowledge in management of Cloud Provider security and compliance (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and tools.

  • Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure security measures are aligned with organizational goals and compliance requirements.

  • Prepare reports on security incidents, threats, and overall security posture for senior management.

  • Collaboration & Coordination:

  • Work closely with IT, legal, and compliance teams.

  • Coordinate with external agencies and vendors on security-related matters.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in a cybersecurity or IT security role.
  • Strong knowledge of information security principles, risk management, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with network security, endpoint protection, cloud security, and encryption technologies.
