Key Responsibilities

  • Safe and Timely Deliveries:

Safely operate a delivery vehicle to deliver packages and goods to customers on schedule and in good condition.
- Loading and Unloading:

Load, organize, and secure cargo in the delivery vehicle to prevent damage. Unload packages at customer locations.
- Route Management:

Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to optimize time and fuel, adjusting for traffic and other conditions.
- Customer Service:

Provide courteous and professional customer service during deliveries and resolve any customer issues or complaints.
- Vehicle Maintenance:

Conduct routine inspections of the delivery vehicle, reporting maintenance needs and ensuring it is clean and ready for operation.
- Documentation and Payments:

Handle deliveries, invoices, and payments, and request customer signatures on delivery receipts.
- Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel expenses.
- Safety and Regulations:

Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and transportation safety regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license is a fundamental requirement.
  • Driving Experience: Experience in operating a delivery vehicle is often required.
  • Physical Stamina: The ability to lift packages and walk or get in and out of the vehicle frequently is important.
  • Navigation Skills: Familiarity with navigation tools and the ability to plan and follow routes are essential.
