Driving and Transporting:

  • Safely operate vehicles (vans, trucks, forklifts, etc.) to deliver products to designated locations, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations.
  • Transport temperature-sensitive goods such as perishable food or other cold-storage items while maintaining required temperature settings.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicles are safe for operation.
  • Load and unload goods at various destinations, ensuring proper handling of items to prevent spoilage or damage.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory levels at delivery locations and ensure proper documentation (e.g., delivery receipts, manifests, etc.)

Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance (e.g., oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations) to ensure the safe and efficient operation of delivery vehicles and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues, including cold storage units, refrigeration systems, and vehicle engines.
  • Monitor and maintain the temperature control systems in trucks and cold storage units to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Report major mechanical problems or issues that require specialist attention.
