Will oversee and integrate multiple engineering functions—Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Engineering Process Management—at our Philippines location.

This position is intentionally designed for a broad, cross-disciplinary leader, not necessarily a specialist in all engineering domains. Success comes from the ability to lead diverse technical teams, set direction, build strong systems, and enable experts to do their best work.

The Engineering Operations Manager will:

· Provide unified leadership across multiple engineering teams

· Ensure operational excellence across quality, process, and manufacturing engineering

· Strengthen collaboration between global and local teams

· Establish structure, systems, and accountability as the organization grows

This role is ideal for someone who excels at leading managers and specialists, building systems, and driving clarity and execution across varied engineering disciplines. They will also interface with cross-functional teams, act as a key liaison between Zero and our contract manufacturer and work directly with global manufacturing partners to ensure alignment, communication, and successful execution of engineering and quality priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Organizational Stewardship

  • Lead and develop cross-functional engineering teams, creating clarity of roles, priorities, and expectations.
  • Build a cohesive engineering operations function by establishing processes, communication routines, and team norms.
  • Coach team leads in quality, process, and manufacturing disciplines, empowering them to own their domains.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational discipline.

Quality Leadership

  • Lead quality engineering efforts, ensuring quality issues are appropriately managed and addressed.
  • Support global quality initiatives and align local practices with QMS and standards.
  • Ensure quality feedback is incorporated into ongoing manufacturing and engineering improvements.

Manufacturing Engineering Oversight

  • Guide the team responsible for process capability, line readiness, tooling, and manufacturability.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) activities by aligning factory readiness and engineering requirements.
  • Partner with global ME teams to ensure standardization of processes and documentation.

Engineering Process Management

  • Oversee engineering workflow management, documentation control, and change execution discipline.
  • Ensure engineering processes are robust, scalable, and compliant with standards.
  • Promote best practices in design for manufacturability, reliability, and process control.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Champion structured problem-solving principles across all teams.
  • Use data to identify gaps, evaluate performance, and drive systematic improvements.
  • Build routines for dashboards, performance tracking, and on-time delivery of engineering outputs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline.

8+ years of experience leading engineering, quality, manufacturing, or technical operations teams.

·
Proven experience leading managers or cross-disciplinary teams.

·
Strong systems thinker with experience building workflows, processes, and operational structure.

·
Ability to drive alignment in a matrixed, global environment.

·
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or structured improvement methodologies.

·
Vehicle manufacturing or EV industry experience is a plus but not required.
