ABOUT THE ROLE

The prospective client is seeking a
highly motivated SAP ABAP Developer
with hands-on experience in designing, developing, testing, and supporting SAP custom solutions.

The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in core ABAP, modern S/4HANA development practices, and integration technologies.

You will be responsible for creating robust enhancements, interfaces, reports, workflows, and extensions following SAP best practices.

This is a role for someone detail-oriented, structured in their approach, and committed to delivering reliable solutions within a global environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Custom Development:
    Build, enhance, and maintain SAP objects using ABAP, including Reports, SmartForms/Adobe Forms, Interfaces, Enhancements, and User Exits.
  • S/4HANA Development:
    Utilize modern ABAP features, CDS views, AMDP, OData Services, and Fiori-related backend development.
  • Integrations:
    Develop and maintain interfaces using IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, Web Services, and REST/OData APIs.
  • Troubleshooting & Optimization:
    Debug, optimize performance, and resolve issues across SAP modules.
  • Technical Design:
    Translate functional requirements into technical specifications, ensuring consistency with SAP standards.
  • Testing & QA:
    Conduct unit testing, participate in integration testing, and support UAT cycles.
  • Documentation:
    Prepare technical documentation for code, processes, and interfaces.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with functional consultants, business users, and global development teams.
  • Continuous Learning:
    Stay updated with S/4HANA innovations, modern ABAP practices, and integration technologies.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum of
    3 years of SAP ABAP development
    (ECC or S/4HANA).
  • Preferably with exposure to
    S/4HANA
    modernization projects.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in ABAP syntax, debugging, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with:
  • Reports (Classical & ALV)
  • Enhancements (User Exits, BADIs, Enhancement Framework)
  • SmartForms/Adobe Forms
  • BDCs, BAPIs, RFCs
  • S/4HANA Skills (preferred but not required):
  • CDS Views
  • OData Services
  • AMDP / ABAP OO
  • Fiori backend development
  • Integration Knowledge:
    IDocs, Web Services, APIs.
  • Tools:
    SAP GUI, Eclipse ADT, Transport Management.
  • Familiarity with at least one SAP functional module (MM, SD, FI, PP, or HR) is an advantage.
