Key responsibilities

  • Interpret technical documents: Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and CAD/CAM files to understand project specifications.
  • Set up machinery: Prepare and set up manual, automatic, and CNC machine tools, aligning and securing cutting tools and workpieces.
  • Operate machinery: Run machines to turn, mill, drill, shape, and grind parts to the correct dimensions and tolerances.
  • Monitor and adjust: Continuously monitor machine feed and speed, making adjustments as needed during operation.
  • Quality control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications, using tools like calipers to check measurements.
  • Maintenance and safety: Perform routine machine maintenance, clean the workspace, and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Problem-solving: Analyze and solve manufacturing problems, make corrections to programs, and provide feedback for process improvements.
