Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists the production editorial, headed by the production editor (PE), in the preparation of raw and edited manuscripts,
  • Making sure that they are encoded, organized, readable, and checked for completeness contributes concepts for the development of the appropriate cover and layout design of the instructional materials
  • Collaborating with graphics and marketing departments in ensuring the designs get approval on time
  • Helps in the preparation of galley proof, proofreads and counterchecks galley and laid out proofs for entirety, factual accuracy, language, and comprehensiveness
  • Alerting the production team for errors and issues that could reasonably compromise the quality of the instructional materials
  • Coordinates with other departments involved, such as graphic artists, development editors, printers, and other production staff, to monitor timetable for stages and meet the deadline in the publishing process
  • Prepares art logs and researches photos or images for the instructional materials preparations and assists in requesting for permissions for use of photos, artworks, and/or literary piece
  • Assists in the transmittal/routing of manuscripts between authors, editors, and the editorial
  • Helps in checking/drafting of bibliographic data helps in filing, photocopying, printing, binding, encoding, answering phone inquiries, and other routine administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience as a Senior High School teacher is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in education, journalism, communication, creative writing, or relevant field.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn, research, and write wide range of topics.
  • Ability to follow strict deadlines.
  • Can provide a portfolio of articles written.
  • Two to three years of experience as a writer is a plus.
  • Advanced editing and proofreading skills is a plus
  • Willing to report at 1253 Gregorio Araneta Avenue Quezon City.
