Position Summary

The Legal Secretary is responsible for assisting the lawyer-in-charge in comparing and finalizing contracts depending on instructions provided. Secretary also handles preparation of corporate documents for submission to internal/external clients. Secretary provides as well secretarial support to assigned Legal Counsel/s.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Reviews and compares contract drafts of assigned accounts/divisions, as instructed by the lawyer-in-charge

2. Coordinates with and assists the lawyer-in-charge in finalizing contracts or preparing execution copies

3. Provides secretarial support to assigned Legal Counsel/s including scheduling, receiving and releasing documents, managing phone calls, coordinating to internal and external clients, etc.

4. Coordinates with the lawyer-in-charge as regards filing of contract, agreements, pleadings and other documents in the custody of the department

5. Coordinates and assists the lawyer-in-charge in the preparation of corporate documents for submission to the appropriate agencies, as advised by the lawyer-in-charge

6. Reviews corporate files to ensure accurate, complete and timely (on a regular schedule) submission of corporate documents to the appropriate regulatory agencies

7. Coordinates with and assists the lawyer-in-charge in the preparation of corporate documents as requested by assigned accounts/divisions

8. Performs other duties that may be assigned by superior from time to time
