We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented offshore Assistant Accountant to support our Australian finance team from the Philippines.

Role Overview

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant (Junior-to-Mid level) with 2–4 years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to Australian accounting standards and Xero. The role is focused on supporting day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, expense management, and assisting with month-end reporting.

While experience with Australian accounting standards is preferred, we welcome candidates who are willing to learn these requirements on the job.

This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working independently with limited supervision, while still being hands-on with transactional accounting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Process supplier invoices and payments.

  • Follow up on outstanding customer invoices.

  • Bank Reconciliation

  • Reconcile bank accounts and ensure accuracy of records.

  • Month-End Support

  • Prepare journals, accruals, and reconciliations.

  • Assist with management reports and financial statements.

  • Compliance & Administration

  • Ensure accuracy in GST coding and compliance with Australian accounting standards.

  • Provide general accounting administration support.

  • Expense Management

  • Process and reconcile staff expense claims.

  • Ad-hoc Analysis

  • Prepare financial analysis and reporting as required.

Key Requirements

  • 2–4 years' accounting experience, preferably including support for Australian businesses.
  • Proficiency in Xero and strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Intermediate-level Xero proficiency is required to effectively manage day-to-day accounting functions.
  • Understanding of GST, BAS, and Australian accounting practices is highly regarded.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritise, manage deadlines, and work independently.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.

What We Offer

  • Monthly Base Salary: PHP 33,000 to 38,000 (Paid every 2 weeks via Wise)
  • 13th Month Pay: Equivalent to one month's base salary (paid separately in December).
