Engineering Manager - LayerCake

Role Profile: Develop and manage a wide ranging team of engineering disciplines to optimise and guide the delivery of solutions within the business.

Services this role will deliver:

1. Manage the creation and advancement of Engineering processes ranging from solution definition to release management

2. Review and optimise Engineering environments to ensure they are optimal for the outcomes required

3. Guide Product and Project teams on efficient team resource management, ensuring proper capacity planning and delivery

4. Drive Engineering standards across quality, performance, scalability and supportability

5. Ultimately deliver high quality solutions for web services, APIs and integrations using the latest technologies and techniques

6. Ensure efficient and automated development, deployment and documentation procedures

7. Provide technical guidance and feedback to stakeholders

8. Be an interface to the business and customers surrounding solutions and technology initiatives within the business

9. Mentor and provide leadership to developers of all levels either directly or via solution design and knowledge sharing platforms

Success Requirements:

· Minimum 3+ years experience managing high-performing Engineering groups with modern, best-practice approaches

· Minimum 5+ years experience Engineering across full-stack environments and using best-practice standards

· Working with key technology stacks such as , , C#.NET (Latest), Python, HTML5/CSS3

· Very good understanding of the web and associated protocols

· Demonstrated leadership with Git or other distributed version control systems including code-reviews and pull-requests for team optimisation

· Passionate about software development and informed about emerging frameworks and practices

Other Skills Considered:

· Tertiary education in Computer Science or similar field

· Experience in deploying and managing applications in cloud hosted environments such as Azure and/or AWS using CI/CD

· Working knowledge of front end frameworks such as , React, Angular2, Gulp, Webpack and/or other leading libraries

· Understanding and experience with AI Engineering tools and processes
