About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer II – Backend with 4–6 years of professional software engineering experience and deep expertise in building scalable, secure, and maintainable backend systems. In this role, you will design and implement APIs, authentication flows, and cloud-native services while ensuring observability and strong engineering practices. As a mid-level engineer, you will also collaborate closely with frontend, DevOps, and cross-functional teams, contributing to architectural discussions and best practices.

What You'll Do & The Impact You'll Have

  • Design and implement backend systems following OOP and clean architecture principles.
  • Build secure authentication flows including OAuth2 and token refresh mechanisms.
  • Work with ORMs such as Prisma or SQLAlchemy for database interactions.
  • Develop, containerize, and deploy applications using Docker and CI pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
  • Implement observability with logging and tracing for APIs.
  • Leverage AWS services such as S3, RDS, and Secrets Manager.
  • Apply deployment security best practices across environments.
  • Communicate effectively with frontend, DevOps, and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable solutions.

What You'll Bring to the Table



Must-Have Skills:

  • Strong understanding of OOP and clean architecture principles
  • Experience implementing authentication flows (OAuth2, token refresh)
  • Proficiency with ORMs like Prisma or SQLAlchemy
  • Experience with Docker and CI pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
  • Implements observability: logging and tracing for APIs
  • Familiar with AWS services: S3, RDS, Secrets Manager
  • Solid understanding of deployment security practices
  • Strong communication with frontend, DevOps, and cross-functional teams

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with asynchronous processing using Celery or Cloud Tasks
  • Exposure to AWS Lambda or ECS
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana
  • Understanding of Cloud IAM roles and permission boundaries
  • Implements circuit breakers and retry logic in services
