- Prepares food according to standards and in a timely manner.
- Sets-up mis-en-place for various meal periods
- Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe workstation to avoid contamination and accidents.
- Conducts inventory of stocks as needed.
- Memorizes and follows recipes, standard portion sizes, policies, and procedures for food preparation.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a culinary course / Highschool graduate / College level with at least 2 years of related experience in a casual dining full-service restaurant
- Has at least six months of experience in hot/cold kitchen as a line cook/prep cook but fresh graduates are welcome to apply
- Preferably has experience in Italian and Western cuisine (pastas, salads, sandwiches, and entrees)
- Has an understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Ability to work under pressure while being organized and systematic
- Amenable to work on a shifting schedule, with possible overtime work (including holidays, weekends, and night shift schedules)
- Amenable to walk and stand for long periods, as service demands, and carry heavy-weight materials and to get exposed to cold/hot food preparation and food service environments.
