We are seeking a Restaurant Receptionist / Guest Services Host that will play a vital role in creating a warm and memorable first impression for our guests. This position must ensure a smooth flow of reservations and seating while providing full attentiveness and genuine assistance for every guest. As we are a Japanese restaurant, we are highly valuing the ability to embody and exhibit "omotenashi" which is Japanese hospitality.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • At least a High School Diploma or equivalent; further studies or a degree in hospitality is an advantage.
  • We Prefer: Previous experience in restaurants, hotels, or the hospitality industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
  • Ability to exhibit Japanese hospitality (omotenashi): attentive, respectful, and service-minded.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of reservation systems and customer service tools is a plus.
  • Must be willing to have a flexible schedule with availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Neat, well-groomed, and professional appearance.
  • Must greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables with professionalism and care.
  • Manage reservations and walk-in seating efficiently to maximize guest satisfaction and table utilization.
  • Answer phone calls, take reservations, and provide accurate information about menu offerings, promotions, and events.
  • Maintain an organized waitlist, communicating wait times clearly and politely to guests.
  • Provide full attentiveness to guests' needs, ensuring they feel valued and well-assisted throughout their visit.
  • Coordinate with servers and management to ensure smooth guest flow and service operations.
  • Handle guest inquiries, requests, or concerns promptly and courteously, escalating to management when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and professional presentation of the host/reception area.
  • Share information about promotions, loyalty programs, or special offerings as deemed appropriate.
