Medical Coder III

We're looking for a sharp, detail-obsessed
Medical Coder III
with
2–3 years of solid coding experience
who can handle both inpatient and professional coding like a pro. If ICD-10, CPT, DRGs, and APCs are basically your second language—this one's for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing inpatient hospital documentation to assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes
• Coding professional and technical claims, including ICD-10-CM, E/M levels, and surgical CPT codes
• Validating MS-DRG and APC assignments to ensure accurate reimbursement
• Abstracting clinical data in accordance with client and regulatory requirements
• Identifying and resolving coding-related claims scrubber edits (diagnosis, E/M, CPT, PCS—you name it)
• Maintaining productivity while consistently achieving 95%+ quality scores
• Supporting up to two client assignments on a short-term basis when needed
• Participating in client and internal meetings and training sessions
• Staying current with coding guidelines, conventions, and client-specific requirements
• Performing other related duties as assigned (because healthcare loves a plot twist)

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of recent, hands-on coding experience relevant to inpatient and/or professional services
• Inpatient & Professional services specialization
• Active AHIMA (e.g., CCS, RHIT, RHIA) or AAPC (e.g., CPC, CPC-H) credential
• Demonstrated experience meeting production and quality standards
• Passing score of 80% or higher on required pre-employment coding assessments
• Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work independently

• Device: Personal computer with Intel Core i5 or higher, or AMD Ryzen 5 or higher
• Internet: Wired connection with at least 50 Mbps download speed, plus a backup connection (e.g., mobile hotspot or prepaid Wi-Fi)
