About the Role

PsychPlus is seeking a detail-oriented Collections & Posting Specialist to support U.S. healthcare revenue cycle operations. This role is responsible for accurate payment posting, account reconciliation, and timely follow-up on unpaid or underpaid claims to ensure optimal reimbursement and clean accounts receivable.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of U.S. medical billing workflows, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with insurance payments, adjustments, and collections follow-ups.

Key Responsibilities

1. Payment Posting

• Accurately post insurance and patient payments into billing systems
• Apply adjustments, contractual write-offs, and denials according to payer guidelines
• Reconcile EOBs, ERAs, and payment batches to ensure posting accuracy

2. Collections & AR Follow-Ups

• Review and work unpaid, underpaid, or denied claims
• Follow up with insurance payers regarding claim status, payment discrepancies, and appeals
• Identify root causes of non-payment and escalate trends or issues to supervisors

3. Reconciliation & Reporting

• Reconcile posted payments against bank deposits and billing reports
• Maintain accurate AR notes and follow-up documentation
• Assist with AR aging reports and collection performance tracking

4. Compliance & Quality

• Ensure all posting and collections activities comply with HIPAA and payer requirements
• Follow established SOPs for posting accuracy and collections workflows
• Identify posting errors or systemic issues and support corrective actions

5. Team Collaboration

• Coordinate with billing, coding, and authorization teams to resolve claim issues
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in healthcare administration, billing, or RCM
• 1–2 years of experience in U.S. medical billing, payment posting, or collections
• Strong understanding of EOBs, ERAs, adjustments, denials, and AR workflows
• Experience working with billing systems and EHR/RCM platforms
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and follow-ups efficiently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with behavioral health or psychiatry billing
• Familiarity with major U.S. payers (commercial, Medicaid, Medicare)
• Advanced Excel or spreadsheet tracking skills
• Experience working AR aging and denial trend analysis
