The Data Center Technician is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and maintenance of all physical infrastructure within the data center. This includes managing IT equipment, troubleshooting hardware issues, supporting system installations, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The technician plays a key role in maintaining uptime and optimizing the performance of the data center.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields(preferred but not mandatory).
  • Technical certifications
  • Solid background in UPS systems, PACU, fire suppression,
  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience in data center operations or IT hardware maintenance.
  • Basic understanding of networking protocols, hardware components, and server configurations.
  • Familiarity with data center infrastructure, including UPS, cooling, power management, and rack systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform basic troubleshooting of server and network equipment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to emergency situations.
  • Willingness to work in shift-based schedules, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance & Operations:

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of data center equipment such as servers, UPS systems, network equipment, and cooling systems (PACU).

  • Conduct physical installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of IT equipment.
  • Ensure all systems are running at optimal efficiency and report any irregularities to the engineering team.

  • Troubleshooting & Repairs:

  • Identify and resolve hardware failures or performance issues promptly.

  • Assist in performing system diagnostics, replacing faulty components, and coordinating with vendors for warranty support.
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting and identify problems in network connectivity or server operations.

  • Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Continuously monitor systems, including power, cooling, and critical infrastructure, to ensure optimal performance.

  • Document and report on performance metrics, incidents, and equipment statuses.
  • Work with the engineering team to track maintenance logs and ensure systems are compliant with required standards.

  • Support & Installation:

  • Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment, including servers, switches, routers, and storage devices.

  • Collaborate with teams for server migrations, hardware upgrades, and rack installations.
  • Help maintain inventory and manage equipment replacements.

  • Collaboration & Assistance:

  • Work alongside engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure data center operations align with project goals.
