This position is a night shift position with a schedule of 9 am EST - 6 pm EST.

Job Description:

The R&D Research Associate works directly with the Research Manager to support in performing research to understand areas of strategic opportunity and growth for the company. The Research Associate plays a critical role in supporting the company's strategic growth initiatives by conducting research, synthesizing insights, and identifying opportunities in the pharmaceutical and healthcare landscape. The Research Associate will work with all members of the Strategic Initiatives teams and prepare and present information to the Strategic Initiatives Manager, Director of Strategic Initiatives and various stakeholders across the company.

This role requires a strong ability to find, evaluate, and analyze information from diverse sources including articles, research papers, government publications, industry reports, and online forums and determine the credibility and relevance of each source. The Research Associate must be able to creatively track down answers to complex business questions, break them into smaller components, and deliver actionable insights to guide decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Research Support

• Conduct market, industry, policy, and competitive research to support company-wide strategic planning and growth initiatives.
• Conduct corporate and business research to support strategic initiatives and organizational decision-making
• Identify, evaluate, and summarize trends in healthcare, pharmaceutical distribution, reimbursement models, and emerging technologies.
• Compile and analyze data from internal systems and external sources to assess new market opportunities.
• Search and assess credibility of information from multiple sources including scholarly articles, government publications, market research databases, industry news, and relevant internet sources for accuracy, reliability, and bias.
• Track down and synthesize information from diverse online and offline sources to answer complex business questions.
• Break large, complex questions into smaller, researchable components and provide clear, structured findings.
• Research individuals, companies, and organizations relevant to the company's meetings, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
• Compile and analyze data from internal systems and external sources to assess new market opportunities.
• Develop and deliver both short-form and long-form written reports summarizing research findings, ensuring clarity, depth, and alignment with stakeholder needs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work on research requests assigned by the Research Manager, providing timely and accurate outputs.
• Communicate findings clearly and concisely to internal stakeholders through written reports, slide decks, and presentations.
• Participate in meetings to help define project scope, support stakeholder discussions, and provide research-based updates throughout the project lifecycle.

Support for Strategic Projects

• Monitor and maintain research databases, intelligence tools, and relevant literature to support ongoing strategic projects.
• Contribute to Phase Zero and early-stage project evaluations through research, preliminary modeling, and benchmarking.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions, working groups, and project updates.
• Support the creation of research reports, executive summaries, and comprehensive reports.

Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts, Business, Public Health, Life Sciences, Economics, or a related field
• Experience supporting research, strategic planning, business development, or innovation teams.
• Proven experience in corporate or business research, including strategic initiative research and market analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to assess the credibility of multiple information sources and synthesize findings from diverse inputs.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting to changing priorities in research focus.
• Strong investigative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to creatively uncover and connect information.
• Written and spoken Business English with strong verbal and visual presentation and communication skills
• Highly resourceful and creative mindset, able to brainstorm and iterate through strategic ideas
• Comfortable in fast-paced environments, available and engaged to respond to tasks that need a quick turnaround, ability to multi-task and accommodate urgent requests as needed
• Growth mindset, willingness to continue to learn new industries and areas and to continuously train in growth areas to improve business acumen and professional skills
• Familiarity with spreadsheets and word processing software. Knowledge on other Microsoft applications (Visio, Power Automate, etc.) is a plus
