Role Overview:

Build and maintain the server-side of our applications. You will develop backend services and APIs in and Python, orchestrate integration with external systems (including AI/ASR services), and ensure data flows reliably between components. This role focuses on connecting the frontend to AI/LLM/ASR engines and other back-office systems.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain backend applications in and Python.
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs and webhook integrations for frontend and third-party services.
  • Orchestrate API calls and workflows involving speech/audio processing (ASR) and large language models.
  • Ensure robust authentication, authorization, and data validation in APIs.
  • Work with databases (SQL/NoSQL) to store and manage application data.
  • Set up logging, monitoring, and error-handling for backend services.

Required qualifications:

  • 3+ years of backend development experience using and/or Python.
  • Strong understanding of API design (REST/SOAP/GraphQL) and integration patterns.
  • Experience with cloud services or server infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Knowledge of asynchronous programming, multithreading, or event-driven architectures.
  • Good command of data structures, algorithms, and database concepts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related (or equivalent experience).

Preferred skills/experience:

  • Prior experience integrating AI/ML services (LLMs, ASR, computer vision APIs).
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Experience with message queues or streaming (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
  • DevOps/CICD knowledge (e.g. Docker, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Experience with testing and documentation of APIs.
  • Any background in speech/audio processing or NLP.

Location:

Remote initially; must relocate on-site to BGC (Taguig, Manila). Contract type: Full-time or fixed-term (project-based) engagement.
