Underwriting Clerk

Job Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Assist underwriters in the evaluation of insurance applications and related documentation
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of underwriting activities
• Review policy applications for completeness and compliance with company standards
• Communicate effectively with clients and agents to gather necessary information
• Support the underwriting team in identifying potential risks and recommending appropriate action
• Participate in training sessions to enhance understanding of underwriting processes and policies

Required:

• Bachelor's degree, diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework in finance, business, or a related field is a plus
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Basic understanding of insurance principles and terminology

Preferred:

• Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role
• Familiarity with underwriting processes or insurance policies
• A desire to pursue a career in the insurance industry

Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Experience with database management and data entry
• Ability to learn and adapt to proprietary software used in underwriting
