Job Summary:

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the overall cleanliness and care of all linens, uniforms, and guest laundry. This includes washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens according to company standards. The role requires attention to detail, time management, and a strong commitment to cleanliness and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment.
  • Sort and separate dirty laundry by type (e.g., linens, towels, uniforms, guest laundry).
  • Inspect items for stains, tears, or damage before and after washing.
  • Treat stains and follow proper procedures for delicate or specialty fabrics.
  • Fold, hang, and organize clean laundry according to established procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of laundry area and ensure equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Monitor inventory of laundry supplies (detergents, fabric softeners, etc.) and report low stock.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines in handling chemicals and equipment.
  • Respond to guest laundry service requests and ensure timely delivery.
  • Report any maintenance issues or guest concerns to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in laundry, housekeeping, or a similar environment is an asset.
  • Familiarity with laundry equipment and cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality with guest items.

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced laundry or housekeeping environment.
  • Exposure to heat, moisture, and cleaning chemicals.
  • May require weekend, holiday, or evening shifts depending on facility needs.
