POSITION SUMMARY  

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team, specializing in Fixed Assets and Inventory. This role will be responsible for managing asset lifecycle activities, ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, and reconciliation processes. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, experience with software capitalization, and a proactive approach to process improvement. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Fixed Assets Management

  • Review and record Fixed Asset (FA) additions, disposals, and transfers.
  • Perform monthly depreciation runs and reconcile depreciation schedules with the general ledger.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Capitalization & CIP Oversight

  • Capitalize labor and other costs associated with internally developed software.
  • Manage Construction in Progress (CIP) accounts and ensure timely transfers to fixed assets.
  • Ensure proper classification and documentation of capital projects.

Inventory Accounting

  • Reconcile inventory balances across systems and physical counts.
  • Ensure accurate valuation and classification of inventory in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Partner with manufacturing leaders to discuss and resolve issues in areas such as production, purchasing, accounts payable, receiving and shipping, etc.
  • Monitor inventory transactions and variance including purchase price variances, scrap and cycle counts to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies
  • Manage external and internal audit requests relating to inventory processes
  • Be point of contact for accounting team on all inventory related matters

Transactions & Reconciliations

  • Prepare and post journal entries related to asset and inventory transactions.
  • Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger for fixed assets and inventory.
  • Support audit and tax reporting by preparing schedules and documentation.

Month-End Close & Audit Support

  • Perform monthly close activities related to fixed assets and inventory.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests and ensure compliance with audit standards.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS  

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on fixed assets and inventory.
  • Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management, depreciation methods, and inventory controls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas).
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across functions and present data clearly.
