Facilities and Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

The Technician is responsible for ensuring the consistent and efficient operation of machinery, equipment, and tools across production and facilities. This role involves a combination of preventive maintenance (PM), troubleshooting, equipment improvement, and line support. The Technician is also responsible for maintaining inventory levels, ensuring compliance with safety standards, performing detailed reporting, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in machine performance and production processes.

Scope and Responsibilities

Machine Maintenance and Improvement

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and improve efficiency, including lubrication, adjustment, and cleaning of parts. Diagnose and repair machine malfunctions, including compressors, motors, sensors, and electrical components, to restore optimal function.
• Monitor water consumption, air conditioning, air compressors, lighting, and other utilities. Inspect for leaks, ensure machine PMS adherence, change running compressors, and drain air as needed.
• Modify existing equipment and fabricate parts to enhance performance. Oversee installation and testing of new machinery, ensuring seamless integration with production standards.
• Monitor and manage water systems, refill and degas as needed, and replace helium and compressed air tanks to avoid operational disruptions.

Line Support and Sustenance

• Provide technical support to production lines by addressing malfunctions promptly, minimizing downtime, and ensuring machines operate at full capacity.
• Perform regular line checks and adjust equipment settings based on production requirements. Clean and maintain equipment, calibrate tools, and ensure operational efficiency.
• Maintain an organized inventory of parts, tools, and consumables, ensuring availability and accurate tracking. Implement 5S methodology to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workspace.

Safety and Compliance, Reporting and Documentation

• Enforce safety standards, conduct emergency response drills, identify hazards, and ensure workplace safety. Perform safety checks to comply with OSHA standards and company protocols.
• Maintain logs of machine malfunctions, repairs, and preventive maintenance. Prepare regular maintenance reports detailing activities, machine performance, repairs, and any operational downtime.
• Support engineering projects and initiatives as assigned to enhance operational efficiency.

Other Related Tasks

• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the FMD team and ensure efficient operations.
• Assist with special projects or initiatives related to FMD team as needed.

Competencies and Skills Required

1. Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks on various machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.

2. Strong skills in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

3. Experience in designing, fabricating, and modifying machine parts or components to improve performance or address operational needs.

4. Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations, ensuring adherence to OSHA standards and promoting a safe working environment.

5. Competence in calibrating and monitoring machinery to maintain optimal operation and prevent malfunctions.

6. Ability to manage and track maintenance tools, parts, and consumables, ensuring inventory levels are maintained for efficient operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• College undergrad or has bachelor's degree in any Engineering courses or related field. Technical or Any vocational Course
• Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs for industrial machinery and equipment, including scheduling and performing routine inspections and repairs.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and resolving issues with motors, sensors, control systems, and hydraulics.
• Experience in machine installation, setup, and commissioning, ensuring smooth integration and performance in the production process.
• Familiarity with fabrication techniques such as welding, machining, or modifying parts to enhance machine functionality or resolve equipment failures.
• Experience with safety compliance and hazard management, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and maintaining a safe working environment during maintenance tasks.
• Proven track record in inventory management, ensuring that necessary tools, parts, and consumables are stocked, organized, and available for scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.
