Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary

This role in the Facilities and Maintenance Department is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and improving maintenance operations to support optimal facility performance and equipment reliability. This role manages a team of skilled technicians, overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance activities, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. This position ensures maintenance activities align with organizational standards, fosters a safe and efficient work environment, and drives technician skill development to meet the company's operational needs.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Maintenance Operations and Planning

• Develop, organize, and oversee the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance schedules, ensuring all equipment and facility requirements are proactively addressed.

• Lead and support complex troubleshooting efforts on critical equipment, performing hands-on diagnostics and repairs as needed to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.

• Monitor and manage spare parts inventory levels, working closely with procurement to ensure critical parts are available when needed and avoid disruptions in maintenance activities.

• Establish and maintain documentation of all maintenance schedules, repair records, and PM activities to track performance, identify improvement areas, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

Team Leadership and Skill Development

• Direct and support the maintenance team in daily activities, assigning tasks, monitoring completion, and providing technical expertise to ensure adherence to best practices.

• Conduct regular evaluations of team members to assess skills, productivity, and adherence to maintenance protocols, providing constructive feedback and creating development plans to enhance team capabilities.

• Develop and deliver training modules tailored to technician skill enhancement, focusing on diagnostic techniques, repair procedures, equipment handling, and safety protocols. Guide technicians through skill-up plans to build a high-performing team capable of addressing complex maintenance challenges.

Continuous Improvement and Compliance

• Proactively identify areas for improvement in maintenance processes and equipment efficiency, developing and implementing strategic improvement plans to reduce downtime, extend equipment lifespan, and enhance overall facility performance.

• Work closely with production lines and other departments to align maintenance activities with operational needs, ensuring minimal disruption to production and promoting seamless collaboration across functions.

• Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted following safety regulations, environmental standards, and organizational policies. Conduct regular inspections, risk assessments, and safety training to foster a compliant and safe working environment.

Other Related Tasks

• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Facilities and Maintenance team and ensure efficient operations.

• Assist with special projects or initiatives related to Facilities and Maintenance team as needed.

1. Strong knowledge of facilities maintenance processes, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair techniques for a range of industrial equipment.

2. Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team, with experience in performance management and effective delegation.

3. Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on prioritizing and managing multiple maintenance activities, resource allocation, and project timelines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any related field.

• At least 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role, managing teams and ensuring operational goals are met in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrated experience in facilities maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and managing preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.

• Experience in planning, coordinating, and overseeing improvement initiatives and maintenance projects, ensuring timely and effective execution.

• Track record of evaluating employee performance, providing constructive feedback, and implementing training and development programs to enhance team capabilities.

• Strong background in diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical or electrical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and operational efficiency.

• Experience in monitoring inventory levels, managing spare parts procurement, and ensuring availability of resources needed for maintenance activities.

• Ability to collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, safety) to ensure alignment of maintenance activities with organizational objectives and minimize operational disruption.
