A picker, or order picker, selects items from warehouse storage to fulfill customer orders, working in distribution centers to ensure accuracy and efficiency for shipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Order Fulfillment: Locate and retrieve specific items from designated locations within a warehouse or distribution center.
  • Accuracy: Use order specifications, pick sheets, or scanners to identify the correct products and ensure they are picked accurately for each order.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect products for damage or defects and ensure they meet quality standards before preparing them for packing and shipment.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of picked items, report discrepancies or damages, and manage inventory flow.
  • Warehouse Operations: Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and handheld scanners to assist with picking and moving inventory.
  • Safety & Organization: Maintain an organized and clean work area, adhere to safety protocols, and ensure safe handling of materials.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other warehouse staff to meet order fulfillment targets and support overall team efficiency.
