Job Summary
Responsible for performing essential accounting and financial tasks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This position involves managing daily financial transactions, assisting in the preparation of financial reports, and ensuring compliance with established accounting principles and company policies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn and grow within the field.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Financial Recordkeeping:
Maintain and update accounting records and files, including ledgers, journals, and accounts.
Process and record daily financial transactions, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
Reporting and Analysis Support:
Assist in the preparation of financial documents and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Support the preparation of budgets and analyze expenses.
Help prepare and file tax documents and returns.
Administrative and Operational Support:
Process invoices and bills, ensuring timely payments to vendors and collection of receivables from customers.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Provide support for internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial data is accurate and resolve any discrepancies.
Compliance:
Ensure all financial transactions comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant laws and regulations.
Handle confidential financial information with the utmost integrity.
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is typically required.
Experience:
With at least 2-3 years of experience (experienced in the construction industry is a plus but not totally required)
Previous internship or entry-level experience in an accounting or finance role is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Fundamental knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables) is essential.
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is preferred.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
High level of integrity and professional ethics.
