Job Description:Job DescriptionThe Release Train Engineer manages the agile release train and the entire software development and delivery life cycle. The role is focused on facilitating the execution and driving continuous development. The role manages risks and escalates impediments to ensure efficient project delivery.

The RTE is responsible for delivering value and guiding each team member about the policies that should be adopted to cater to the end-user requirements. ResponsibilitiesEnable effective "day-to-day" of scaled environment (e.g., scaled agile events, platform delivery reporting, quarterly increment planning, etc.)Drive integration, alignment and continuity of delivery across value streams

Help solve organizational problems and facilitate problem-solving sessions (e.g. own agenda, push thinking)Proactively identify and escalate issues for Executive sponsor support

Triage incoming needs and questions to the teams and support the management of internal and external dependencies

Own tracking and reporting on objectives & key results, financials, etc. for Executive audiences

Help to develop & manage portfolio of large, complex deliverables following agile ways of working

Track & report on resources & gaps

Support preparation and own content for key scaled agile workshops & events (e.g., sponsor meetings)Key SkillsExperience in scaled agile delivery preferred

Experience leading or shaping large transformational efforts preferred

Broad network and ability to influence across the organization is critical

Experience in or excited to learn Agile way of working

Experience in working within a team-of-teams-of-teams structure preferred

Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP), Certified Scrum Coach (CSC), Scrum Alliance Scrum Master or Kanban Management Professional (KPM) an asset

Participates in Agile/Kanban communities of practice

Experienced in scaled Agile environments (e.g. SAFe, LeSS, SoS)Ownership mindset and track record of getting stuff done; pragmatic and calm under pressure

Ability to draw connections between work streams, recognize oncoming impediments and clear the path forward proactively before they become blockers

Ability to both grasp big picture and have rigorous attention to detail

Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex and sensitive messages at all levels of the organization

Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders - strong leadership skills

Strong problem solver with ability to lead the team to push the solution and quickly structure and break down problems

Strong coaching skill set with considerable experience in coaching large teams with various profiles

Maintain complete documentation to ensure team processes run smoothly

Define and maintain scaled agile metrics and measurements of delivery (e.g. velocity, work in progress, etc.)Critical thinker and passion to challenge status quo to find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas - loves and embraces change

Believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency and trust across the team

Not afraid to "roll up the sleeves" and seeks to go outside comfort zone to learn Experimental mindset to drive innovation and continuous improvement of teamQualificationsCollege graduate preferably with IT BackgroundMinimum 5 year experience in the IT industry or IT-related industry

Minimum 2 year experience as an Agile Program Manager or similar role
