System Administrator

Job Description

We need reliable system administrators (sysadmins) who can maintain, improve, and support our client's computer systems. You will be responsible for making sure hardware operating systems, especially on-site company servers, run smoothly and securely so that our clients' computer systems (our IT solutions) are secure, smooth, and protected.

Reporting Relationship

Directly reports to Product Manager Team Lead

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor HCI systems including compute, storage, and network resources
  • Administer virtualized infrastructure (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, or equivalent)
  • Maintain optimal performance of network services and troubleshoot connectivity issues
  • Configure and support enterprise networking components (firewalls, switches, routers, VLANs)
  • Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and replication solutions
  • Apply patches, updates, and system upgrades with minimal disruption
  • Monitor system health and conduct regular audits for compliance and security
  • Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to optimize infrastructure for application performance
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and recovery plans

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong experience with HCI platforms (e.g., Dell VxRail, Nutanix, or HPE SimpliVity)
  • Proficiency with virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or equivalent)
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, etc.)
  • Familiarity with SDN (Software-Defined Networking) and storage protocols (iSCSI, NFS, SMB)
  • Hands-on knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds)
  • Comfortable with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python preferred)
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, VCP, or equivalent
