Customs Classifier and Compiling Specialist

  • Compile and classify goods in accordance with the Australian Customs Tariff and relevant import regulations.
  • Demonstrate proven experience in tariff classification for Australian importers.
  • Vet and review import documentation to ensure compliance with Australian border and customs regulations.
  • Verify the accuracy of key import documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
  • Ensure all documentation aligns with Australian customs requirements and internal company compliance standards.
  • Accurately classify imported goods under the Harmonized System (HS) and ensure consistency with customs legislation and company procedures.
  • Manage invoicing and customs clearance processes for shipments destined for Australia.

Qualification

  • Knowledgeable in EDI or incoterms.
  • With experience in using Cargowise, Expedient or similar systems.
  • Graduate of BS Customs Administration or other related courses.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in shipments classification.
  • Strong knowledge of customs laws, tariff classification systems (e.g., HS Code), and trade regulations.
  • He/she must ensure accuracy of data entry.
  • Good communicator in email, chat, and online meetings
