Middleware Administrator (Kafka, IBM MQ, RH AMQ & IBM APIC) — Manila

About the Role

We're hiring an experienced Middleware Administrator with deep hands-on expertise across Kafka, IBM MQ, Red Hat AMQ, and IBM API Connect (APIC). You'll design, implement, secure, and optimize enterprise messaging and API environments to ensure continuous, reliable data flow across systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and manage middleware components (Kafka, IBM MQ, RedHat AMQ).
  • Administer and maintain queues, topics, channels, ACLs, and pub/sub configurations.
  • Configure and manage IBM API Connect (APIC) gateways, developer portals, and analytics.
  • Monitor system health, message throughput, and latency — tuning for performance and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot production issues involving connectivity, resource contention, or application integration.
  • Implement SSL/TLS, OAuth, and other security mechanisms.
  • Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, Ansible, or Terraform for middleware operations.
  • Integrate middleware into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Support deployments in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
  • Manage HA/DR configurations and testing for business continuity.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in Middleware Administration.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, RedHat AMQ, and IBM API Connect (APIC).
  • Strong Linux/UNIX administration and shell scripting skills.
  • Solid grasp of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, Firewalls, Load Balancing).
  • Familiar with DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
Good-to-Have
  • Experience with ServiceNow change/incident management.
  • Exposure to BFSI production environments.
  • Knowledge of CP4I or container-based IBM middleware deployments.
